Cam

I came out to BC for a fresh start. My enthusiasm did not prepare me for the task of building a new life, but I am grateful to have found my resolve through my connection to Joy. 

Eager to make new connections, I made a Facebook post calling for other musicians to connect and jam with. Joy was one of the people who responded, and we added each other as friends. 

We chatted before school started, and met in person for coffee on October 8, 2014. 

From the get go, I instantly felt a connection; a spark. I knew I was into them and wanted to be a part of their life and for them to be a part of my life. 

We went downtown and spent hours walking and talking. I found someone I felt that I could be open and honest with, and it is the openness and honesty that I continue to strive for a decade later.

When I flew back to Ontario for the holidays, we called each night before we went to sleep to talk about our days and check in. 

When we returned from school, we made things official and started dating in January 2025. 

Things moved quicker than I was used to, but I knew in my heart that I chose the right person. On August 1st 2026, I am choosing Joy again, this time, forever and always.
